I bring several types of experience to my teaching. I have been a yoga practitioner since the age of six. While in high school, I studied Yoga under Rati Unwalla in Bombay, India, and later on at the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India, under B.K.S. Iyengar. I have taught extensively in the US and Australia. My Pilates training began in Australia in 1987, working at the first Pilates studio in Sydney, Australia; in 1998, I received additional certification from Master Trainer Kim Holms of Symmetry (Body Mind Institute). I teach spin, cardiofit, pilates and yoga at the San Francisco Police Academy, Olympic Club, World Gym and Sports Basement.
I currently train in short track speedskating under 2000 US Olympic Coach Susan Ellis
My specialty is injury prevention and recovery for athletes. Sometimes the amount of stress put on day after day on a body can do a lot of damage. Athletes need to know how to recover fast and stay flexible, so the muscles can generate more power and endurance and be used to 100% of their capacity.
In August 2004, I published a handbook called "Speedskaters Guide to Flexibility" which can be purchased on CD from www.ellismethod.net/flexibility.html
